I decided to follow my heart. At least for today. I woke up anytime I like. I eat. I sleep some more. No exercise and no house chores. I only watch my sugar intake.
I want to observe any difference in my mood and my urge to take carbs. Well I feel much relaxed without feeling guilty indulging myself. Come to think of it, I need the break. I don't miss carbs like I miss cigarettes when I first quit.
Occasionally I had the memory to take Nicorette. That's about it, just a memory. No major drawback.
I have the sugarfree Eclipse Mints to keep me occupied if I have the urge for something sweet.
Overall, I don't really crave nicotine or sugar. I think it has to do with the songs I listen to in Live Radio and also I didn't stress myself by exercising,
I don't experience the shakes like the heroin addict on withdrawal. No migraine, no depression either.
------------------
This will be the attitude I/m taking for the next 10 days. A no worry, no hurry attitude towards quitting sugar.
Luckily I got the novel Origin by Dan Brown to keep me company.
Here is the deal with sugar:
Excess sugar wreaks havoc on your body in a few different ways. For starters, research suggests it may contribute to inflammation in the body. In turn, chronic inflammation is linked with heart disease, arthritis, numerous types of cancer, and other serious health problems.
For me the key is not to make eating as a primary activity in life. Instead, my major activities are writing, drinking water and listening to music.
--------------------
Just had Moringa and oats. Feels very satiating indeed.
The idea is to eat food that makes you feel good. Certainly sugar makes you feel bad in the long run.
As long as I am not inflamed and depressed, I say that is good enough.
-------------------
Without having to put too much emphasis on the end result. I still insist of losing 30 kg between this next 3 to 6 months.
Just focus on the DAILY WINS of no sugar and starch.
Let it flow for the next 10 days:
- No 3-in-1 coffee
- No crackers
- No strawberry jam
- No peanut butter
- No bread
- No Hari Raya cookies
- No Nicorette
These are not natural foods. I can do away with them.
I feel slightly agitated without carbs. The banana and oats helped.
