It is very important for us to mark time because when we embark in a cause set in motion activity, there is a gestation period between stimulus and response or commonly known as action and reaction.

Subconsciously she probably experiencing the two most basic stimulus response questions; what is this and what does it means to me?
Then she will do a cost benefit analysis and start to speculate possible scenarios in her mind. Possibly she is is thinking WIIFM and how it will impact her current and future status.
Therefore we simply back off. We must allow the gestation period to happen like waiting for babies to born and fruit to grow. Timing is everything:

You plant a good thought you will get good outcome in return. It depends on the soil too. If the land is barren then the outcome will not be as impacting as a fertile land.

While waiting, he may get involved in planting alternative filler plants like vegetables or even start a totally different farming activity altogether like fishing or simply mending the fence.
A good farmer should know how to regulate several symbiotic activities together. For example he can grow his durian orchard on a piece of land surrounded by a moat. On the island he rears chicken while in the moat *[m]e breeds fish. The chicken enrich the soil by scribbling on it. That helps with the airing of the soil and the growth of micro organisms. At the same time the chicken droppings can be used as the feed for the fish.
